The Strawberry Field rates

The Strawberry Field is great for gatherings of 50 to two or three hundred, it  includes the site facilities below, including full access to the Dell in the Woods.  The Dell is a beautiful space accessed via a magical path through the woods, it has a rustic stage and is perfect for a ceremony or spoken word or acoustic musical performances (please note that the woods are part of a working farm and they were coppiced last year).

The main site area features a large central fire pit and guests are free to sit around the fire and chat all night, play guitar or just stare at the stars.

marquees...

We work with local suppliers to provide a vast range of structures.   From wind-resistant Clear Span marquees to exotic and beautiful Yurts.

Marquees can come with a simple groundsheet and carpet flooring, hardwood flooring (strongly recommended), beautiful inner lining and chandeliers and lighting. We have given some cost indications for budgeting purposes.

For extra space you can link up two yurts and have an area for eating and an area for dancing, it’s a magical arrangement.

We can also provide lighting and sound systems.   Our music policy is fairly relaxed and there is a full explanation below... sound levels are always something to get absolutely clear from the outset so please do read our policy if you wish to have music at your gathering.

There are many other marquees and structures available so please contact us to discuss your requirements if you have something special in mind.

The Chill Bar: we offer a fun and relaxed fully-managed bar with a range of local ales, ciders and wines as well as soft drinks at reasonable prices.  For groups of 80 people or more, we provide the bar for free, we normally locate it in the lobby area of The Soul House but are happy to locate it anywhere by arrangement.

catering and drinks...

We work with number of local partners to provide lovely fresh locally sourced food and to provide catering, for example and ‘assisted barbecue’, a fully catered barbeque or formal sit down meal.

There are also options like a local free—range hog roast, or you are free to organise a self-catered barbeque.

There are a number of local high quality suppliers we can recommend so that you can pick up your order when you arrive.

If you would like us to provide quotations for catering, please provide as much information as possible.  Please consider the type of offering you would like, would you prefer a buffet?  Would you like tables and chairs or benches, would you like the tables dressed?  Naturally, all of these parameters affect the cost.  For budgeting purposes we have given some pricing indications here.

We are also happy for you to arrange your own food or caterers.

example catering costs...

  • Example free range hog roast £750 (70/80 people)

  • Example catered evening barbeque circa £25 p/p

  • Example buffet lunch circa £12 p/p

Other essential things to consider...

We have a set of clear House Rules but these areas are worth pointing out right at the start so everyone has a great time!

Music Policy & noise: Our music policy is fairly relaxed; we’re fine with bands and DJs playing at a ‘reasonable level’ up to 10:30pm.  A good way to determine ‘reasonable’ in terms of bands is we do not mic up the drum kit.  And overall, out of respect for our neighbours and wildlife, if we can hear music at the edge of the field, it’s too loud!  This applies to any music or other activity.

We know it’s important to let people have fun however we would like to point out that screaming and shouting, and drunken disrespectful behaviour is one of our deal-breakers as detailed in our T&Cs.

For this reason we require guests to appoint a Nominated Person to be responsible for ensuring music levels are maintained at an agreed level, and that guests are adhering to our House Rules.

For more clarification please feel free to call and chat things through...  sound levels are always something to get ‘very’ clear from the outset to avoid any stress at the gathering.

Securing Your Date:  We are receiving a lot of interest so if you would like to proceed we do advise a prompt response.  The next stage would be to create a full description of your event here and agree the logistics and parameters, once that is agreed, upon receipt of 50% deposit, your date is secure.  Please note deposits are not refundable under any circumstances unless The Soul Camp cancels your booking, please be absolutely sure before you book.

Access: The Strawberry Field site is subject to availability due to farming issues as it’s on a working farm.   What give this lovely field its secluded feel is that access is via a long track across a field and down a ramp and then into The Strawberry Field.   However, in cases of ‘very wet’ weather, the track can become impassable with cars so it should be noted that guests might have to park at the entrance and walk across access the access field.   Very bad weather could also affect access for suppliers.

And finally:  We pride ourselves on working with our guests to make sure everyone has a wonderful time.  Please do feel free to call and chat things through.

Thanks for your interest, we hope to see you at The Soul Camp soon!  To make an enquiry please go here...
